Mengsong White

For our Mengsong White, freshly picked spring leaves from the renowned Mengsong tea region in Yunnan were carefully spread out on bamboo trays and slowly dried in gentle shade. This simple but delicate processing preserves the natural character of the leaves while allowing a soft, gradual oxidation to begin.

The result is a white tea with a surprisingly deep and mellow profile. Although young, it already shows a beautifully rounded character: floral, fruity and smooth, with a warm sweetness that lingers on the palate. The aroma combines notes of wild flowers, ripe stone fruit and a subtle honey-like depth. It is a tea that sits somewhere between white tea, Oolong and young Pu-erh – light and elegant, yet with enough body to feel comforting and satisfying.

Mengsong is known for expressive teas with good structure and a lively energy. In this white tea, that mountain character appears in a softer form: gentle, fragrant and easy to drink, but never flat or simple. The liquor is bright and clear, with a silky texture and a pleasant sweetness that becomes more present with each infusion.

This tea is also very forgiving. It can be brewed in Gongfu style for a more layered and aromatic experience, or in Grandpa style for a relaxed everyday cup. Even with longer steeping times, it remains smooth and balanced, developing more sweetness and depth rather than bitterness.

Over time, Mengsong White will continue to transform. The fresh floral notes will gradually become softer, while the fruity sweetness may move towards dried fruit, honey and warm Hong Cha-like nuances. A beautiful tea to drink now – and an interesting candidate for further ageing.
