Understanding Tamaryokucha
Tamaryokucha stands out in the world of green teas due to its unique processing. Unlike Sencha, which is characterized by its needle-shaped rolled leaves, Tamaryokucha boasts elegantly curled leaves. There are primarily two varieties of Tamaryokucha. The first, as exemplified by our tea, is the steamed variety, offering a softer and more subtle flavor profile. The second type is Kamairicha, distinguished by its dry heating in a wok (kama), contributing to a more pronounced roasted taste. Both varieties are now rare treasures, predominantly produced in select regions of Kyushu, making our Tamaryokucha a truly special offering for tea connoisseurs.
