Silver Tip Oolong
This is an exceptional Silver Tips Oolong from Rohini Tea Estate in Darjeeling. It is made from small leaves and buds from high quality AV2 bushes, the most prized clones in the Darjeeling region. The leaves are freshly picked in the first week of May. The month of May is very interesting for the low to medium altitudes in Darjeeling. The growth is slow, the weather stable and it rarely rains. It is a time of spring awakening and coincides with the infestation of cicadas. Perfect conditions, then, for the production of Muscatel Oolong.
This tea is gently oxidized several times to ensure that all the exquisite flavours are brought out. The finished tea leaves are greenish with red edges and with many silvery tips that brew into a yellow cup with medium body. This tea is very smooth and full-bodied with an exceptionally sweet and fruity aroma. It has distinct notes of peach, grape and berries and a finish of honey.
