Jing Mai Gushu 2015

After ten years of natural aging in Yunnan, our Jing Mai Gushu 2015 has developed a rounded, multi-layered character. Storage in the local climate has gently transformed the fresh edges of the young tea into a deeper, more harmonious cup, making it a rewarding choice for Pu-Erh enthusiasts. This tea goes back to our first encounter with an old-growth garden in Jing Mai in 2015, when the vitality and calm atmosphere of the Gushu trees convinced us to press this harvest as a cake. Produced from leaves of long-established trees in the mountains of Yunnan, the tea shows the clarity, structure and quiet strength that Gushu material is known for.

Tea from Jing Mai Gushu Trees

For this pressing we selected leaves from ancient tea trees in Da Ping Zhang, a plateau-like ridge in Jing Mai at around 1 600 m above sea level. Because the garden lies on the top of the mountain, all material comes from a consistently high altitude. This stable terroir, together with traditional garden management, gives the tea its clean texture, fine bitterness and persistent sweetness in the aftertaste.

Who is Tea Master Panda?

Tea Master Panda is our friend and mentor who looks after the storage and release of our Pu-erh cakes in Yunnan. Originally from Sichuan, he has spent many years working with both raw and ripe Pu-Erh and knows the different mountain areas and their typical character in detail. His experience with traditional processing and careful storage helps us choose the right moment to offer each tea. We value his calm, practical approach and his reliable support in the background..
