Gua Feng Zhai – Cha Wang Shu
Discover the profound character of Gua Feng Zhai – Cha Wang Shu, an exceptional Sheng Pu-erh crafted by tea master Panda from one of the most iconic tea gardens of Gua Feng Zhai. Hidden deep within the primeval forest, Cha Wang Shu is regarded as one of the most representative origins of this famous area. The ancient tea trees growing here yield a tea of remarkable depth and authority, with a texture that is rich, oily and full from the very first infusion.
What sets Cha Wang Shu apart is its striking combination of strength and refinement. The liquor feels dense and nourishing, while the taste remains elegant and composed. A distinct forest character rises from the cup, giving the tea a vivid mountain energy and a strong sense of place. The finish is especially memorable: deep, lingering and resonant in the throat, with the kind of aftertaste that continues to unfold long after each sip. Descriptions of Cha Wang Shu commonly emphasise its particularly oily liquor and fuller body compared with other Gua Feng Zhai sub-areas.
As with all of Panda’s teas, the leaves were processed by hand with great care and pressed into traditional Pu-erh cakes at Yang Ming’s artisanal manufactory. The result is a tea that already offers impressive intensity in its youth, yet clearly has the structure and balance needed for long-term ageing. Over time, its already deep and commanding profile is likely to gain even more harmony, richness and aromatic complexity.
