Ujihikari (うじひかり) is an unregistered cultivar from Uji. The word Hikari derives from Japanese word for light. This word is used to describe the low-lying morning sun which illuminates with its rays the misty tea plantations and causes a mystical atmosphere. Uji Hikari was developed especially for gyokuro and matcha production.
