Tokoname Kyusu Teapot Kuro
The Kyusu teapot “Kuro” is a handcrafted teapot made by Jinsui, a renowned ceramic artist from Tokoname, Japan. Its name, “Kuro”, meaning “black” in Japanese, reflects the elegant, deep matte finish that gives the teapot its calm and refined appearance.
With its balanced, rounded body, slender spout, and gently tilted side handle, this teapot offers both visual harmony and comfortable pouring. The soft-touch surface not only looks refined but also feels smooth and pleasant in hand.
Inside, a built-in ceramic strainer allows for direct brewing with loose leaf tea, ideal for premium Japanese green teas, that benefit from an unrestricted infusion. Thanks to its low-porosity clay and precise firing technique, “Kuro” is flavour-neutral and retains heat efficiently.
Each piece is individually handcrafted, making every teapot one of a kind, a functional yet deeply cultural expression of Japanese tea tradition.
With a capacity of 270 ml, “Kuro” is perfectly suited for shared tea moments or peaceful solo sessions.
